More expensive than my whole stereo ten years ago.My experience with two different high-end systems is a sonic improvement 80% of the time.
Of course one homeowner may have pre-selected those recordings that
processed to surround sound best -- the second time I used my own CDs.I remenber the old Hafler hook up in the 1960's (adding two rear speakers in a two-channel system by connecting them to the positive terminals of the front right and front left speakers) improved the sound 5-10% of the time even when using cheap rear speakers aimed at the ceiling.
