But the point is that nothing the subject can learn or train for influences the test.

True and since medical tests use a large population, their results are valid, published and peer reviewed.
Not much of that in audio - publishing, that is, and peer reviewing. Perhaps that's because audio DBTs are pseudoscience.
And does it really matter what differences are audible to the Bose-buying general population?
If we really want to know about audible differences, we should have the most highly trained, experienced listeners as subjects.
