Personally I consider fast switching to be the most effective means to reduce the sensitivity judging sonic differences... have you ever tried?
It seems to me that fast switching is derived from defuddled thinking about the duration of short term sonic aural memory, befuddled because listening has almost nothing to do with that particular facility IMO.
