http://world.std.com/~griesngr/intermod.pptI recall reading of another test of ultrasonic perception where the positive result for a ultrasonic multisine audible thru a single amp/speaker dissapeared when seperate amp/speakers were used for each component sine
this reinterpretation of "ultrasonic audibility" in terms of IMD products in the conventional audible band does suggest very linear amp/preamps are a really good idea when the source may have gratuitous high frequency content that would otherwise be inaudible without the distortion in the playback chain
