"Now where do I get such a number such as 5V/us? Well, I measured the worst case mistracking of a number of phono cartridges and found the Ortorfon to be the worst in maximum dV/dT."Mistracking is a mechanical phenomenon. Of course it occurs in Ortofon at its fastest electrical slewing rate, that's where it has an almost entirely undamped mechanical resonance peak. What's that got to do with the price of tea in China?
Let's forget about Shure and Ortofon and every other manufacture and and discuss the hypothetical numbers I gave for a generic cartridge in my example. Do you find an error there? If so, what is it? How do you arrive at an electrical output of a phono cartridge of 5V/us based on instantaneous change in stylus velocity and corresponding electrical output rise vs rise time?
