Why you want 5V/uS for phonostage ?

Hi.

Were you influenced by Nelson Pass who once quoted:-
"The best I have ever seen is 5V/uS with a vinyl copy of the Sheffield Drum record just short of clipping a 100W amp."

But he further quoted:
"Keep in mind that this was the highest I could find at the time, & 0.5V/uS was a far more typical peak, even when you thought there was a lot of top end. Peter Walker got similar results in his measurement at Quad.

So why you go for 10 times that much ??? Are you too theoretical ?

As I just posted re my 'cut-half' PAS-2, I do not hear any sonic
downsides per your description due to its low-low-fi design with low low slew rate after I undid the sonically harmful active tone-control stage.
