Hi.Please email me your IEEE papers on TIM. I am interested.
Since my computer in my office here can't post schematic, please click to Dynaco Inc. website to check its schematic which is pretty basic & conventional.
Let's cut it to the chase: you said "1-2mA O/P current of a 12AX7 can't properly charge the RIAA caps under high dV/dt conditions".
So what values of the dV/dt are they & at what frequencies.
I got simple formulae to calculate the required drive current once the slew rate is specified at a certain frequency. Hopefully, they are also appliable to RIAA NFB.
Also, maybe my ears were all rusted, I do not find it "softens the sound" or "annoying or edgy". Instead to my surprise too, it sounds
so open, detail, dynamic & balanced after my upgrade as posted below. However, I concur in what you just described, it sounded sluggish, opague & vintage as original stock before upgrade, which I could not tolerate. But as I pointed out, what fouled up the sound mostly was something else more substantial: its active tone control stage etc etc.
