I guess that is one area we all could agree that changing tonality of the system can be achieved electronically (change of frequency response) by a cable, and acoustically (changing approximately of speaker distances to its surrounding wall).But also I hope we could agree that same thing can not be said about imaging, soundstaging or vocal/midrange localization altering which only can be achieved acoustically, and not electronically :)
