Re: Is anyone familiar with Panasonic DAT machines?

The SV 3700 Is a serious machine. Maybe as many as 30 % of CD's were produced using them as DAT mastering machines. The built in hour meter on the back of the machine, will give a clue to it's wear.

I have one, it is super, and I really cannot hear "it's" sound. It is a great performer.

Of you send one to Oade brothers, they can perform some super mod's for it, and it can actually outperform the 3800, or even the SMPTE4100.

Definitly a fine machine, get one if less than 1000's hours. You can still order any part for it, even the remote,( remote is less than 30 bucks).

This is an expensive machine , parts wise. If you add up replacement parts, the figure is in the mid five digits, so get one that has not been used much if possible.

I put 10,000 hours on one, trouble free.

Get the Data Tapes, better performance DDS.
