Great!! I was hoping that it (the SV-3700), would work out! I had tried a SV-3500, but it had some problems and sonically wasn't up to snuff, compared to the SV-3800 that my brother has.Tell me more about the mods performed by the "Oade Brothers", and how to contact them. Are these circuit mods or transport mods?
Also you make mention of purchasing the Data tapes instead. Why is this? Currently my brother is using the HHBDAT65. Will the Data DAT tapes work better? I'd planned on purchasing DAT tapes from National Recording Supplies in Brooklyn, since this is where I have purchased my open reel supplies. Is this a good place to purchase DAT tapes, or do you have a better supplier?
Also, did I read this right? Repairs can run up to the mid five digits? Holy Shi...... You'd better believe that I'll make sure to purchase a low hour machine!! Can you trust a machine that has had a new head installed? Do most techs know how to properly align the heads?
Sorry for all the silly questions, but I'm pretty excited about this and don't want to end up purchasing a Lemon!
