Thanks Theo. It's really magic on how to count power. I also used the 25W Antham Int 1 to driver Merlins, there are a lot of power and control (transformer coupled). Your recommendtion graaf gm-20 is worth to try, also quite afordable. Do you know what's preamp good enough for it ? I use joule la-150 (also used it to drive belles 150A ref). Still, what I image a high impedance/high effiency driven by vzn-100 remains mystery, though you double it. I saw a case AER Momentum junior driven by 40W tubes, there was huge daynamic and bass controls. The AER is 94db efficient(4 ohms).
Another direction - what is the best tube amp of transformer coupled to drive Merlin?
