When you get tired of playing around...get horns!
I find they do everything right, from the most soft spoken music to the biggest Wagner cressendo, front loaded compression drivers preferably, of course not the DJ crap (but there are some good sounding pro speakers). Mainly try to get the horn loaded drivers to go as low as possible.
Some DIY will probably be need but very rewarding.
Avantgarde are a good second choice IMHO.
