Music Hall turntables are really nothing to write home about, but they get the job done. The #5 needs further isolation, and the idea of using four feet is insane. Three points make a plane, and you can never perectly level four points (one corner is always weak). The cartridges that they use leave something tobe desired. Also the cartridges are really not all that well set up from the factory, and a tweak here or there really helps. My #5 just blew away my Sony 9000ES playing thrift sale LP's. I picked up a used Wright WP100 phono stage, and just moved up up the ladder a couple more rungs from the 9000ES. Mine came with a busted dust cover, and Mr. Hall wouldn't make it good (we're completely finished doing business in this lifetime). By removing the dust cover the table sounded better still.
I'd suspect that if you were to install a Denon MC on it, and run it thru a half way decent phono stage that 9000ES would become a door stop (as all of them should have been in the first place).
