The Xindak is the best sounding SACD player I have ever heard. Mechanically is a different issue. You can't hear Hybrids SACDs if you player will not play them.
The important thing is to try to squeeze as much of the music you out of whatever format it is resting on. And even though my Sony DVP-S9000ES still plays Hybrids they do not sound nearly as good as they do on the Xindak and thus I can't get passed the SACD format to get to the music. If the Xindak SCD-1 wasn’t so picky about not wanting to play Hybrids I would have kept so of the SACDs for convenience. But after being spoiled by the fantastic sound of the Xindak my Sony 9000ES just cannot take me to the music anymore.
Also I can squeeze more enjoyable music out of LPs now than SACDs.
The trick is getting past the format to the music.
