Most of us Audiophiles would home that most or possibly all of the shinny discs would be SACD hybrid discs...one can hope. I think Sony's plan was to try and include as much as possible to get Dad's like me to ante-up past PS2. My son's interest in audio is near 0. For the asking price of this new PS3 it must do way more, whcih it is suppose to do. Playing multichannel audio well is not what PS has ever been about. My fear is that this will continue. We know what low end SACD player are, but it is at least a beginning. The DVD/SACD combo players usually offer pretty good video, 10 bit 108 MHZ or better. How telling would it have been for Sony not to include SACD playback at this point.
