*** The recent news on HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray seems to indicate that Blu-Ray will likely become the next video standard ***Which recent news is this? I thought everyone is now saying the format war is confirmed, rather than averted. Microsoft and Intel seems to have thrown their weight onto HD-DVD, and the studios are still mixed, with some now clearly hedging their bets.
*** Also, any news as to possibility of Blu-Ray machines having the ability to decode the SACD layer of current disks? ***
It's more than a possibility, I believe the Sony Playstation 3 will play both SA-CDs and Blu-Ray discs.
