I am renting, so I don't know if I can get away with mounting it to the wall. I think my next best options are moving it to lower shelf, or better, to a non-glass table (maybe Ikea Lack) and investigate the knotty world of decoupling.
It's a first floor room, so I'd guess carpet>pad>slab. The only time I imagined a TT tumble was over weekend when one or both of my 13-month-old boys started rocking the rack. I also have a 31-month-old girl. Loading a DVD prompts some sway but not nearly enough to cause a fall.
I have had some mysterious tracking issues--almost always when cueing (I use a clamp, too)--and I suspected rack vibration, which is why I came here. I first suspected my subplatter/platter, then tracking force, but my Goldring uses a Rega RB250-derived arm with no obvious adjustments: thread weight onto collar until it stops and done.
