I own a Sanus NF206 audio rack. My TT sits on the fifth shelf (glass), mainly so it is out of the reach of my kids. The room is carpeted. I don't have any aftermarket dampening/isolation thingies anywhere. As purty as it is, thing sways pretty easily when manipulating a component. How bad is this for the table? Of course, I wait for the noticeable movement to cease before dropping the needle. If not for my kids, I'd probably move it to the first shelf.
