In my system I am yet to find new tubes that sound anywhere near as good as NOS. I have purchased 3 quads of 1960's TungSol 6550 at high prices because they really do sound that much better than the Winged C 6550..........they are worlds apart in sound but unfortunately price also. I must have spent 5 grand in the last year buying enough NOS tubes to last me for 20 years. I wouldnt have done that it newly manufactured tubes were as good.
