I guess you and I agree essentially what to expect from a tube that is labeled NOS. The problem for our Newbie friend is that without the precautions of buying from highly reputable sellers that the phrase is abused in my view.
There really is no value distinguishing how you can know when a tube is really made unless you need only certain production runs only. That I expect would require some isotopic dating system.Some well worn tubes play beautifully at the hieght of their ultimate capacity to make the best music they ever will, just not forever.
