Excellent suggestion on using the 100Watt Hammond model. The one I was considering was the 1650N, 60 Watt Model.
The price difference between this one and the 100 Watt is only $3 USD maiking the 100 watter a no-brainer.The extra impedance in the primary also helps, and I would venture to guess that the sonics with an extra 700 Ohms in the primary helps with speakers that tend to dip below their nominal impedances at certain points across the frequency spectrum, especially in the Bass region.
My experience with Hammond Transformers has been excellent so they are a true bargain for DIY audio.
I just wonder how much of a difference I will hear as compared to the Bartolucci's whose frequency response at +/- 1dB is 12 Hz to 52 KHz as shown on the test results sheet with each Bart.
Once I have the other's built I will post my impressions. I plan to purchase a pair of Zu Druid speakers in the next 30 days so that will also help me to enjoy some tunes while hydrating in the tropical weather :)
