It had to be retubed and I installed the tubes myself and bought the tools to bias them. I can't get the bias on the number one pot to 0.65mv. At first I got a reading of around .50mv but I let the amp warm up further and then that was down to around 35 if I remember correctly. Apparrently the two resistors (a black one and a brown with yellow stripe) may need replacing and since I can't do that myself I brought the amp to the local dealer and all I got was the story telling me that the tubes can't be used in the amp and unless I buy their tubes they can't work on the amp.Seems this is one more example of why people avoid dealers. I get the distinct impresson they wansted to sell me ARC tubes, although the tech did show me that I could get a snug fit even in the worst of the sockets with an ARC tube. The tech who looked over the amp when I bought it indicated that there were two looose sockets but that it was no big deal.
