Thanks for that :) I am a little more reassured. I did ping the helpful guys at Music Reference an email and they said they had tested the RM-200 with lots of 6550s and never had any problems. They attribute this to the design of the amp and state the 750VDC figure is mis-leading (i.e. not really an issue with the majority of tubes).FWIW I think it is a fantastic amp - very dynamic - and easily drives the most difficult loads (although I now have a relatively easy load - Tannoy Monitor Gold/York Corner cabinets @ about 95Db/w).
I do want to try some NOS tubes though :o I may have to chance it :)
