How very

You have no idea what musical world I live in, sir. What you think of a musical artist when you now say you don't even know anything about their music is irrelevant; you dismissed one on the basis of their being dead, a junkie, and a cross-dresser, which isn't even true.

That has a lot to do with the music, now, doesn't it.

I don't care if you respond or not. If you dismiss music I like, I couldn't care less. Like & dislike whatever you want to. But it's pretty easy to spot when someone doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. That's you, in this thread, and in the post on the other board.

I thought people who cared about music took pride in knowing what they were talking about. Well, actually, I know that some don't care, because, so far as they're concerned, what they like is all that matters, and what they don't is crap, & that's all there is to it.

I don't think it's asking too much to at least have a valid musical reason for dismissing a musician, not some snarky BS that isn't even friggin' true. But I guess I shouldn't have expected any more from a guy who says that the likes of Patti Smith & Jim Carroll were never deep or well-written enough for him. Oh, for Pete's sakes.

I'm sure you heard & read all the not-deep or not-well-written enough stuff that people like Richard Hell came up with. Well, not liking music based on where it came from is silly enough, and you're certainly entitled to not like any of these people, and on the basis you've now described. It's just difficult to take seriously when you also 'did not listen to them' and 'never will.'

Oh, okay. I don't like "this," because of "this" reasoning, though I've never actually heard it--and never will.

You could've just said you didn't like the music & I wouldn't have batted an eye. Instead, a partisan gripefest somehow managed to get you to brand a guy you now say you never listened to, a 'nothing.'

I don't know, I just think it's silly to put down music I've never even heard. I don't do it. I didn't think you were the type to do it, either. I guess I was wrong.
