If you think Oasis aren't derivative. I can hear The Beatles in almost eveything they do. Also, just my opinion of course, but I think people like David Sylvian, who continues to experiment and releas interesting and unique music without huge commercial sucess, prove that quality and high sales don't necessarily go hand in hand.
