better than any other pretenders out there, at least over the past decade, or so.
By "better" I not only mean for any one cd but for consistent quality in many cds over that time.
To those that would argue for Porcupine or some such other virtual unknown: how many truly excellent bands have toiled in relative obscurity?
If they truly possessed the goods, some version of a venture capitalist, which are as common as flies in this new musical world, would pick them up and.... bingo!
With very few exceptions, bands reach the limits of their talents measured by their relative success. Kind of like individuals...
