Not that I'm eager to get involved in this, um, debate, but Doremi has issued the Beethoven Quartet's complete Shostakovich cycle in a five CD set and it is available.
I know some here don't like Doremi transfers (no argument from me about that), but as I've mentioned in the past, they have stepped up and put some very good chamber music on CD that would be hard to find otherwise.
And finally, there are many music critics, and also art, theater and literary critics, who pronounce their opinions as if they were carved on stone tablets handed down on the Mountaintop. Some readers may be taken in by that, but a sagacious social critic named P.T. Barnum had a telling comment about that.
