First I acquired the L.v.Beethoven series, all on Melodiya and many if not most in stereo. The sound and surfaces were all very decent.Then I learned of the Shostys, several of which were available on some *very* obscure US labels and some *very* hard-to-find Melodiyas. Then came the Consonance CDs, for a brief time, of which I was able to capture only 3 out of 5; but even all five did not contain all the works. As a result, I still don't have 'em all!
It beats me why this reknown group, there from the start with Shostakovich, hasn't been packaged in a CD set.
