Will,All PN junction diodes, including FREDs, generate some switching noise. Between the Schotky diode and the filter chokes ZERO switching noise will get into the B+ rail. IMO, UF5408s are quite adequate for the paths to ground. They are only slightly more noisy than FREDs and they cost a LOT less. Inexpensive ferrite beads on the filament power leads close to the power trafo take care of any SS diode switching noise the leaks thru. Why spend more than is necessary?
