Re: Gotta replace my tube rectifier with a SS rectifier, what are the best choices?

Thanks Eli for the reply.
Right now my PS is CLCLC with Oilcap bypassed with Solens. I'm pretty sure the hum isn't from the from the B+. My tube rectifier is located right up front on the amp. When I designed the top plate I wanted it to look sysmmetrical. It does but the rectifier is too close to the Volume control wipers. At low volumes lese than a 1/4 turn, its silent. At Half-way position its noiser but at 3/4 quieter
and full very quite except for power hiss.
So it seems the volume control and circuit is too close to the rectifer wiring. I plan to move the wiring 180 degrees and to the back of the amp. To do so I'll have to use a small footprint for the rectifier, so SS is the solution.
What parts to use and what to do about slow turn on is a concern.
Any thoughts ?
Willie
