Re: Dynaco SCA-35

I have checked for gain matching by playing a monaural disk and determing if the sound image is centered. Not precise but reasonably effective. That is the reason for my question on tubes comparable to the RCAs. I will also balance the outputs of the two amps with a 1000 Hz warble tone--measuring each speaker's output with a Radio Shack SPL. My SCA 35s have the tone, etc. controls bypassed but retaining the volume control to achieve the above adjustment.
My ESL is from a Lucas kit which most people have had trouble with. However, I have tried others (not Quads) that cost $2000+ and they are not as good in my opinion!! After 5 yrs. these are now getting tremendous bass response--down to the 60 Hz resonance. The reason for my going dual mono is to improve resolution and volume of the bass from the SCA 35s. My first test with only one channel operating in each amp achieved this objective. Now I want to get reserve power by paralleling the two channels from each amp.

Thanks for your interest and advice, Bob
