I want to do the same thing with a pair of Scott 299Bs, also with ESLs (original Quads). I've been told it's not a problem. Although nobody's said so, I think gain matching the two channels would be important so one channel doesn't feed power to the other.One way around this would be to run the secondaries in series, but that would only work if nothing in the secondaries is referenced to ground, or the ground is lifted. That also means a minimum source impedance of 8 ohms, where lower is better.
What kind of 'stats are you running?
