There is "magic" in 12 W. multi-grid power O/P types. Since you like "beamies", instead of pentodes, the 6V6 is a very logical choice.The original request was for an "integrated" amp. Check out "El Cheapo". The 'AQ5s specified are 6V6 "equivalents". I've linked the schematic below. Switching to UL is easy. Just connect the 1 KOhm screen grid resistors to the UL taps instead of the plates.
BTW, incorporating switches to allow for both triode and UL operation is (IMO) a GOOD idea.
