Instead of an all-SS bridge, the best arrangement IMHO is to use TV damper diode tubes in the positive half of the bridge and ultra-fast recovery SS diodes in the negative half.I would have used the hybrid bridge arrangement if I'd had a bit more voltage to spare. It offers more than just the slow start you get from using a thermionic diode as a delay. You also get elimination of hash from the SS diodes (reputedly, anyway; I did try it and it sounded all right but I must admit I didn't actually test for hash).
I really think his is the way to go, with an non-centre-tapped HT secondary winding, unless you can't accommodate the space that a pair of damper diodes will occupy, can't supply the considerable heater current they will consume or absolutley have to have the extremely low forward resistance of an all-SS diode bridge.
