I find your posts interesting but sometimes they fly half way over my head. My PR10 has 3-pin jacks on the back. 2-in/ 2-out. That would appear balanced to me but like you say it just may not be. In vertical legend alongside one of the jacks it says "unbal". I wouldn't have a clue if it was balanced or how I can find the answer to that question. All I hope is that I won't be frying anything when I plug in my xlr cables. I'll test one channel at a time i guess.The Aphex 1100 sounds cool. I really should learn more about reel to reels before I start spending money on dogs. Uh oh, I can buy bad tapes too?.. If you find any good ones laying around I would be interested. Does Radio Shack still sell tapes? I highly doubt it.
