Well, I'm doing all that -- so perhaps it's gilding the lily. Hey, excess is what high-end audio is all about... ;-)The arrangement is:
Input filter (C-L-C)
Transformers (split bobbin, low-capacitive coupling,)
Separate secondary windings for +ve & -ve
Soft recovery diodes, each bypassed w/a cap (separate L/R/+/- bridges for a total of 16 diodes)
Main caps (4)
Inductive filter (4)
Second caps (4)
Each DC supply then feeds a separate regulator that feeds one rail of one channel.WRT the star ground question: I suppose I could connect the ground points of all 4 raw supplies together at the output caps and treat that as the single point ground.....
But I'm still curious about your earlier comment -- are you saying that the star ground arrangement is necessary because of the lack of a connection to chassis ground, or simply that it's good practive anyway?
