Hi.I worry my hearing more than vinyls. Vinyls are to stay with us until the Kingdom come.
For many discerned ears, CD (16bit 44.1KHz linear PCM) is going & gone if not sooner or later, given technological advancement in digital sound technology, i.e. DVD-audio (24bit 192KHz linear PCM).
I find DVD-audio stereo sounds so so much better than CDs (comparing with the same master sound tracks). For digital stereo, CD is done & gone as far as I am concerned. With Blu-ray Disc next-generation optical disc technology over CD/DVD
red ray technology, now getting bigtime in the HD video consumer market, we can foresee this Blu-ray big brother with incredible data storage capacity up to 50GB (dual-layer) can offer audiophiles much much better sonic performance than CD or even DVD-audio in the foreseeable future.Ironically, after the dusts settle, vinyls still stays regardless which digital formats will win out.
