Hi.Yes, vinyls wear out like anything else. But given proper handling, the wear/tear can be so gradual to be unnoticeable.
I own many hundreds only stereo LPs, near all of them are PRE-owned. Some are dated back to the early pioneer stage of stereophony (circa 1954?). They still sound decent to me with today's reproduction standard considering who-knows-how many thousands of thousand times such vintage discs have been played on gramophones of who-knows-what quality.
Given my tender way of handling vinyls, these vintage musical treasures can outlast me easily.
So what is your issue of vinyls' "clearcut physical limitation".
How come we don't worry more about our aging hearing?c-J
