You made a false statement, as jneutron pointed out. I did experiment for myself in the sense that when I switched speaker locations, I still used the longer 12 gauge Angstrom speaker cable. However, it doesn't look good curled up and it's messy, so I went down to Canadian Tire (your statement that it's a tire store shows lack of acquaintance, as in fact they deal with a full line of hardware products aside from their automotive stuff) and found some 16 guage speaker wire on sale. And as jneutron pointed out, the resistance to the two channels is very closely the same (overkill, but then I like some overkill). I didn't notice any difference in the sound.The same arrangement works just fine with the Paradigm Signature S2 speakers.
As for any timing issues, well, I've linked to what jj said below. To do a valid test for differences would be exceedingly difficult . . .
