If you want a true distributed transmission line model, the freeware LTSpice has one called LTRA. This post has an example LTSpice project attached that demonstrates its use with a simulation of 30 ft. of Belden 89259. LTSpice can be downloaded from here.I used to work at a company that made simulators. One of the guys tried to make a transmission line model by using many L's and C's. Computationally, this turns out to be a complete disaster, as the convergence of this circuit to the actual transmission line behavior is horribly slow. As it turns out, the L-C approximation is only good for deriving the Telegrapher's Equation using differential lengths.
