Yes, ASIO when provided. Although with the Korg DAC and KORG driver, I did get blue screens, so junked that DAC...

I did hear a very significant improvement in sound quality when I moved the streaming off the PC,using either RPI or more recently WIIM.

I did notice an improvement recently from the PC when using Jriver and upsampling all the output to DSD. But my PC is also a monster in terms of heat and electricity and I want to get it out of my sound system altogether. WIIMs have helped me to do that satisfactorily...
