Hi Abe, Thanks for your response. Yes the DSP is required for the speakers. They are DIY clones of the JBL M2 reference monitors which have no passive crossovers. All crossover duties and equalization are handled via DSP.
Yes, I will need a USB (3.2) to SPDIF converter prior to the DSP. The DSP box ends being a 2 in and 4 out since there are 4 channels of amplification required (Left & Right times Woofer & Tweeter).
Actually, I may avoid the USB/SPDIF conversion since I noticed the Wiim Pro (and Pro +) have a digital coax output. That unit claims to have SPDIF output capable of High Res bandwidths (greater than 44k/16 bit). My DSP box will be able to handle those instances, I believe.
