The latter thing is no problem at all, just use a nice step-up r-core transformer (it will improve the sound - I am using one on my 240v VSE/Sony player). The warranty issue might be something to think about. Chad Kassem runs a classy outfit and they give out a 3yr warranty. OTOH you can save a cool 1K if you import via NY Sound - but you take the risk. I don't know what I would do... I have not heard the player. If it's as good as it looks it may be worth the risk. I am sure a good local tech can service it and it will use a standard transport etc etc ...Jw
