Go and set your speakers up correctly. Do whatever you need to do to get your system right. I own an 8260 and an SACD 1000 and each of them has depth in my setup. In my last 3 setups actually.The 8260 is better on CD than the SACD 1000 in stock form. The highs are better. There is better detail in the highs.
The SACD 1000 in stock form is better on SACD.
Once repaired or modded by APL, the SACD 1000 is better on CD.
I listen to my 8260 every day. It is an excellent player. I would not even think of selling mine.
Figure out what else is wrong with your setup.....
