Garnot, don't get me wrong - but my experience with this player is simply wonderful. I don't want to bash other brands - but I compared this with CD only players upto $2000 and this one was absolutely wonderful for the price and sound quality. I prefer it over other players because the sound is somewhat analog like.
I definetely use reviews and forums as my starting point in component selection. But the final decision is my own listening preference. I read you feedback on the 7 SACDs that will not play in your player - and seriously feel that you should get your player checked from Marantz. They respond very quickly.
