Milpai, my player was built on January 2004. And with 228 SACDs, there are some that can't be played on the SA8260. And in my audio system, I'm able to do an A/B switch for comparison purpose. I've heard a lot of players and absolutely, the Marantz SA8260 isn't up to the task.I know no one likes when someone trash your player. However, I'm not the only one with a bad opinion about it. Check what Hi Fi World (UK) February 2004 says about the more expensive SA-17 which is a more refined player than the SA8260. Or Hi Fi News (UK) January 2005 about the 2ch twin brother, the SA8400.
