I have RCA 3 mica black plates and ton of other 5751s. I was collecting them for about a year. I forget which Brand I chose but it was probably a triple mica perhaps a GE five Star or a Sylvania triple mica even. I have the Raytheons a few pairs all different but they are excellent tubes.
I put the 5751s in and it sounded terribly distorted. I went back to the 12AX7 and the problem was solved. Thats My Story And I Sticking to it.
I could use a variety of brands including Raytheons or RCA Black plates and see if that will work, but the circuit was designed for 12AX7 so why not use them. I love the 5751 but it just doesn't work, for me anyway. I test my tubes so I didn't put duds in there.
