Not to mention my stubborn nature.All I can say is, if tomorrow they made a digital amp that sounded better than tubes would you retire your tube stuff and buy it? For me the answer is hell NO. I truly don't care what is better. I know what I like and I'd rather fight than switch. I guess I feel that way about WAV files. I have heard far too many that others were happy with but I couldn't bear to listen to. So I rejected it long ago. At this point I'd have to have someone like you help me open my eyes and then maybe I'd rethink things.
Personally, I just kinda hate to see guys who are just getting started off, go down the fancy cable and boutique tube/part route. Going with superior tubes in superior circuits is so much more cost effective. But it requires knowledge and effort since you basically can't buy the stuff. At least not for anything close to affordable.
