Here's my 2 cents. As far as 9 pin tubes go I agree with the others, 5-10 hrs. actual play time and they're almost done (or at least you'll know what to expect). I also agree with the longer time on the PQ tubes. My most recent experience is swaping the 12AU7 for a 12AT7 type in the V3 position in my HP100. I rolled an NOS Tele. 801 S and found this tube to take 50 hrs. to reach it's character, much like a power triod. It was'nt just reduction in grain and brightness the whole presentation changed from Very Forward and some what narrow to Wide, Deep (both forward of the speakers and behind)increased inner detail/separation of instruments. They setteled in with greater extention, top and bottom. The tube got more setteled and better sounding for the next few 10 hr. sessions. As for P-up/P-down cycles the tube was played for 10 hrs. each day for a week with a few longer days in there.
