thank you for your post.
the speakers like amps that have a higher output impedance and less feedback as a rule. this will depend a lot on the listener's own taste but most tend to like them to sound the way i do. newer versions especially the lead free mme and mxes sound wonderful with soldid state gear because they are more relaxed, more room filling than the older versions and more continuous sounding. we have a lot of people enjoying them with simm audio and other fine ss brands right now.
i did a couple of shows years ago with gilbert and bc gear and it sounded wonderful. i have not really had the pleasure of listening to his newer gear but i am sure it is wonderful still.
any amp that sounds like music will make the speakers repond in kind. i might perhaps not go with the older brystons but your recs of the manley , exposure and marantz will do nicely.
